Are some people (Say, Rick K) paid to influence elections by posting on the internet?

stthomasonsax asked:

I see a lot of suspicious voting patterns and a lot of suspicious posting patterns on here. I wonder if some political campaigns or political parties have people trying to shape public opinion by being disproportionately loud and ubiquitous on the internet.

For instance, I’m 99% certain Rick K works for Rudy Giuliani. Nobody likes Rudy Giuliani that much. None of Rudy Giuliani’s wives liked Rudy Giuliani that much.

I’m not a tinfoil hat conspiracy theorist, it just seems odd that there are people who seem to sit around and jump on the same angle of every debate over and over again. That’s not how people generally like to use their free time.

If I were trying to run a slick grassroots-looking marketing campaign for a presidential candidate and I had millions of dollars in corporate money to work with, I’d certainly try to work the internet that way.

What do you guys think?
And if there are paid shills out there, what we can do to identify them and make people aware of them?

What do a TESTER, a TESTONE and a TESTERE have in common?

Endor asked:

This is English. Forget all thoughts of tests, testing, evaluation and the like. I hope I have managed to find a question here whose answer has yet to find its way into the ubiquitous and universal Internet.
So, there is an obvious common factor in the various meanings of these words – you have to identify it!

Is there any wireless ubiquitous internet access service?

I Do My Homework Frequently asked:

Like GPRS, it is limited to GSM connectivity. When there is incoming call, GPRS will break. I’m not restricted by any expense, it’s just the technology. I know there are satellite phones that need to set up the bulky antenna. Is there any 802.1x ,or global landline telephony services, or satellite line that achieve this?

what is up with Internet Explorer and Yahoo’s “can’t open webpage” quirk?

writerperson asked:

It is like some kind of game of chance – when I click on a link or an icon using Yahoo, I get the ubiquitous “Internet Explorer can’t open this webpage” or a similiar message. And it happens several times a day! Even clicking on my mailbox yields the same message. Anyone dealing with a similar problem – anyone got a reasonable fix?
