Is there any wireless ubiquitous internet access service?

Like GPRS, it is limited to GSM connectivity. When there is incoming call, GPRS will break. I’m not restricted by any expense, it’s just the technology. I know there are satellite phones that need to set up the bulky antenna. Is there any 802.1x ,or global landline telephony services, or satellite line that achieve this?
